Meet Julie

Founder of Mejor Vida Insurance LLC

Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Julie has always had a deep passion for serving and supporting the Hispanic community. After meeting her husband in Colombia, they moved to Nebraska to build a new life together.

She arrived in the United States without speaking English, without knowing how to drive, and without extended family nearby—only her husband, a new culture to discover, and new beginnings to face. Like many immigrant families, she had to learn to adapt, grow, and move forward one step at a time. That experience gave her a profound understanding of the challenges, fears, and hopes many Hispanic families carry while building a life here.

That same experience deepened her desire to serve and stand alongside the Hispanic community.

A path of service

Her service journey began with Hispanic mothers through MilkWorks, where she educated, guided, and supported families on breastfeeding and early motherhood. Later, she worked with local libraries to promote literacy in the Hispanic community through bilingual reading programs and family story times—creating spaces where parents and children could learn and grow together.

As her impact grew, Julie took on an even larger mission: helping launch and lead a Spanish-language Christian radio station in Nebraska. Through radio, she brought messages of hope, faith, and a deeper connection with God into the daily lives of many Hispanic families.

Her mission today

Today, Julie continues that same spirit of service in a new and deeply meaningful way: helping Hispanic families understand why life insurance and final expense planning matter—and how to protect the people they love most.

Why this work is personal

For Julie, this work is deeply personal.

When Julie's father passed away, he did have a final expense policy. Still, the coverage was not enough to meet all the costs the family faced. While grieving someone they loved, they also had to carry the stress and financial weight for years.

But Julie also saw the other side of being prepared.

After her dad's death, Julie's mother faithfully kept her own final expense protection in place for many years. When the time came, that planning became a final act of love and care for the family. Instead of worrying about money in the middle of grief, the family could focus on mourning, supporting one another, and honoring her life—without the added pressure of debt and bills.

That experience left a lasting mark on Julie's heart.

Educating and guiding families

Now, her passion is to educate and guide Hispanic families across Nebraska and the United States who may not fully understand how life insurance works—or why it matters. Her goal is simple: help families find peace of mind, protect the people they love most, and leave a legacy of care, dignity, and love.

Julie believes every family deserves to be informed, prepared, and protected—with compassion, honesty, and guidance they can trust.

Today, Julie is ready and honored to serve families with the same care, understanding, and heart that shaped her own story.
