Final Expense Insurance Nebraska

How would you like to get started?

Did you know death also comes with expenses?

$8,000 – $12,000 average cost of a funeral in the United States

When a loved one passes away, funeral, burial, flowers, and other costs can add up to thousands of dollars — and that does not include outstanding debts or medical bills.

The federal government pays only $255 as a Social Security death benefit. That is not even enough for flowers.

If you were gone today, who would pay that bill? Your spouse? Your children? Do they have that money available?

That burden should not fall on your family.

What is final expense insurance?

Final expense insurance is a special type of permanent life insurance. It has a very specific purpose: to create funds to cover the costs that come when someone passes away.

Unlike other insurance, it does not expire. No matter how long you live — your coverage will always be there.

The money can be used for:

Your family decides how to use the money. It is not tied to a specific funeral home.

Can you qualify even if you have health issues?

The answer, in most cases, is yes.

There are two types of final expense policies:

For most people

Simplified-issue life insurance

  • Only requires answering a few health questions
  • No medical exam
  • Coverage begins from day one
  • Available even if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or other conditions
For more serious health conditions

Guaranteed-issue life insurance

  • You cannot be declined for any reason
  • No health questions, no medical exam
  • There is a 2-year waiting period for full coverage
  • If something happened during that time, your family receives everything you paid plus about 10%

The vast majority of people qualify for simplified-issue insurance. Julie will review your situation and find the best option for you.

How much does final expense insurance cost?

The cost depends on your age, health, and the coverage level you choose. But there is good news:

$33 – $65 per month for a $10,000 policy for a 65-year-old
Premiums never increase once your policy is in place, your monthly payment is fixed forever
Up to age 85 you can qualify regardless of your health status

The younger and healthier you are when you buy your policy, the lower your monthly premium will be forever. Waiting always costs more.

A $10,000 policy can cost as little as $1 a day.

How does it work when your family needs it?

When the insured person passes away, your beneficiary — the person you designate — receives the money directly. They do not have to go through a funeral home. They do not have to wait months. The money arrives tax-free and can be used for whatever is needed.

The companies Julie works with — Mutual of Omaha, Assurity, and American Amicable — have been paying claims reliably for more than 100 years. They are among the most financially sound institutions in the world.

Julie's biography
